What is Overwrapping?
The overwrapping process begins by placing the product on a tray by hand. After this, the tray passes through a special wrapper where the entire tray and its contents are wrapped in a thin clear plastic. It is then sealed to keep out air and any contaminants.

Does Overwrapping Really Extend Shelf Life and Freshness?
The picture on the left shows a package of corn that had been overwrapped. The plastic was peeled back half way off of one ear of corn. You can easily see how the exposed portion of corn has become dried out and hard, while the corn that remains wrapped is still plump and fresh.
